Privacy Policy
In short. Earfic has no accounts, no payments and no ads. The app creates a random identifier on your device and sends it, with your listening progress and ratings, to our servers on Cloudflare so we can resume where you left off and rank stories. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location or advertising identifier. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
Who we are
Earfic is a free iOS app of original, AI-generated fiction audio stories, operated by Atbit World (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the Earfic app and this website, earfic.com.
What stays on your device
- A random install identifier (a UUID) the app generates the first time you open it. It is not derived from your hardware, your Apple ID or the advertising identifier.
- Your library, listening progress, app preferences and any episodes you download.
Deleting the app removes all of this from your device.
What we receive and store
When you listen, the app sends the following to our backend, which runs on Cloudflare Workers with a Cloudflare D1 database. Each record is tied only to your random install identifier.
| Data | Details | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Install identifier | The random UUID above, plus a second random internal ID and the time we first saw it. | To keep your data separate from other listeners’. |
| Listening progress | Which episode, your current and furthest position, whether you finished it, and when. | To resume playback and show “continue listening”. |
| Ratings | The episode and your star rating (1–5), and when. | To rank stories and tailor recommendations. |
| Listening events | That you started, finished, skipped or dropped off an episode, the position, and when. | To learn which stories hold attention and decide what to make next. |
We do not ask for or store your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, location, payment details or the advertising identifier. The app has no sign-in. Because we hold no identifying details, we cannot tell who an install belongs to.
Logs and network information
Any request over the internet reveals your IP address to the server that receives it. Earfic’s servers run on Cloudflare, which sees your IP address and standard request details (such as the time, the address requested, the response status and request headers, which include your install identifier) in order to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare keeps request logs for our backend for a short period, currently up to seven days. Our own code does not write IP addresses or install identifiers into our database or logs; when something fails it records only a generic error code and a random request ID.
This website is static. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts, and loads no external fonts. Cloudflare may log requests to it in the same way.
How we use data
We use the data above only to run Earfic: to sync your progress, rank and recommend stories, understand which stories work, keep the service reliable and secure, and fix problems. We do not use it to build advertising profiles or to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and Earfic does not ask for tracking permission because it does not track.
Sharing
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing. The app contains no advertising or analytics software from other companies. We use Cloudflare to host and deliver the service, and it processes data on our behalf. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the service from abuse.
We produce stories in advance with AI tools. No information about listeners is sent to those tools.
Retention and deletion
Listening data stays on our servers for as long as the service operates; we do not currently delete it automatically. Deleting the app removes your install identifier from your device, so the records we hold can no longer be connected to you or to your phone, and reinstalling gives you a new identifier and a fresh start.
If you would like server-side records removed, email admin@atbitworld.com. Because there are no accounts, we can only find records if we can match them to an install identifier, so tell us what you can and we will do our best.
Children
Earfic is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Some stories, such as horror and romance, may contain mature themes; see the age rating on the App Store. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The app communicates with our servers over HTTPS, and administrative access to our backend is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect little data in order to limit what could be exposed.
Your choices and rights
You can stop all data collection by deleting the app. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by California law. Contact us to make a request. Data is processed on Cloudflare’s global network, which may be outside your country.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect. The current version is always at earfic.com/privacy.
